Who we are

Our website address is: http://www.mejiamarketing.com

This policy explains what Mejia Marketing (“we,” “us”) collects through www.mejiamarketing.com, our booking and payment tools, and our client work, and what we do with it.

Mejia Marketing is based in Calgary, Alberta, and handles personal information in line with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

How we use it

We use your information for the reason you gave it to us, and nothing sneakier. That means:

Replying to your questions and following up on your inquiry

Scheduling, confirming, and running consultations and discovery calls

Processing payments and sending receipts or invoices

Delivering the website, SEO, and content work you’ve hired us for

Sending resources or emails you’ve signed up for

Understanding which pages on our site are useful, so we can improve them

Meeting our legal, tax, and accounting obligations

By submitting a form, booking a call, or signing up for emails, you consent to us using your information for that purpose. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we follow Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Cookies and analytics

Our site uses a small number of cookies: some keep the site working, and some help us see how visitors use it. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. That data is aggregated; we don’t use it to identify you personally.

We don’t use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work, though some features (like the booking calendar) may need cookies enabled. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.

Who we share your information with

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Full stop.

We share it only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only what each one needs to do its job:

Website forms – WordPress

Consultation booking – Calendly

Payments – Stripe

Email and file storage – Google Workspace

Website analytics – Google Analytics

These providers are bound by their own privacy and security obligations and can’t use your information for their own marketing. If we ever refer you to a partner for ads or social media, we’ll only share your details after you say yes.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights in a legal dispute. If Mejia Marketing is ever sold or merged, your information would transfer under the same protections described here.

When we work on your website

As a client, you may give us access to your website, hosting, domain, Google Analytics, Search Console, or Google Business Profile. We use that access only for the work in our agreement, and we treat any customer data we can see (like form submissions on your site) as yours, not ours.

We don’t copy, export, or reuse your customers’ information. When our work together ends, we hand back or remove our access and delete any credentials you shared, unless you ask us to keep them. You stay the owner of your accounts, your domain, and your data, always.

How we store and protect it

We use reputable tools with encryption, two-factor authentication, and access limited to the people doing your work. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe. If a breach ever creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we’ll notify you and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, as the law requires.

Some of our service providers store data outside Canada, mainly in the United States. Information stored there may be accessible to authorities under those countries’ laws. If you have questions about how a specific provider handles cross-border data, ask us.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we’ll let current clients and subscribers know by email.
